Capture Window Always Opening

On MacOS, the Capture window is always dropping down, for no particular reason, from the top-right icons display.
I don't see an option to control this. Or...?

I have "Launch on startup" unchecked, but Capture keeps adding itself to my login items. This is really annoying

Startup behavior

On OSX startup, Capture's menu is open by default from OSX's Status Menus. This obscures the system notifications and adds to clutter.
As if a user is going to make a screen recording immediately on startup?
With no options to hide, the alternative is to disable on startup.
