why do I need 2 seperate folder for capture
youngsoo choi
If i capture using macos' default function, dropbox saves to "/Users/user_name/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox/screenshot"
If I use dropbox capture, it saves to "/Users/user_name/Library/CloudStorage/Dropbox/Capture"
Can I use just one folder? I can't find any reason why I have to maintain seperate folder
Karan Khanna
Thanks for the feedback -- totally agree! We're looking at consolidating this right now: so if you are a Capture user and take screenshots with the MacOS tool, they will also go into the /Capture folder so it's all organized in one place going forward. Expect to ship these updates in the Jan/Feb timeframe, will message back here when released.

Upload from image clipboard

Sometimes you need to act fast and make screenshot with a Mac OS native tools. It would be nice to have a n option to upload that image from clipboard.
Karan Khanna
Hey Nick, thanks for the feedback! Quick question to understand better, why are you looking to use the native MacOS screenshot tool here, rather than using the built-in Capture screenshot tool? And what kind of instances are you thinking about here where you need to act fast?

Karan Khanna: for instance if I need to make a quick screen shot of UI area that disappears (error alert etc) I use the system short cut that I remember (I don't use capture's hot keys yet). Sometimes It would also be great to be able to drag and drop things into capture.
Karan Khanna
Nick: Got it, helpful to know! We'll look into this.
In the meantime, if you go to the Preferences -> Shortcuts, there is a link at the top that says "How to set Capture as your default screenshot tool" which should allow you to use Capture to screenshot using the same system shortcuts you've always used!

Automatically upload default screenshots from Mac OS X

It could be nice to use default system screenshot and upload them when they appear on Desktop. CloudApp has the same funcionality, this could be better than set the app as default screenshot engine.

Hey David Šmehlík, thanks for the feedback! Quick question-- why would you rather integrate with the MacOS screenshot tool versus use the Capture screenshot functionality itself? Anything holding you back from switching?
Will leave this open here for others to upvote!

Hi Karan Khanna, normally I'm using both keyboard shortcuts CMD+Shift+3 and CMD+Shift-4 reagarding to which I need, but screenshoting in Dropbox Capture has only one shortcut.
So, if you add support for 2 shortcuts for 1 action (Screenshots), it could be fine, otherwise I need to change my habits after many years.
The second thing, I'm happy with behaviour that screenshot is added to Desktop, so I could manipulate with it easily.
Karan Khanna
David Šmehlík: Makes sense, thanks for the additional detail! We'll look into potentially adding a shortcut for instant 'full screen screenshot' (similar to cmd+shift+3).
How are you typically manipulating the screenshots that get added to your desktop?

Karan Khanna: Very often sending screenshots directly by dragging them through Slack or other tools.
