Advanced sharing features
planned

Couple of things that would make this golden.
- Auto expiring links. A lot of these are for illustration or support. Having something expire on a schedule / hours / days (Should the user choose would be great.) this would curb eternal data being shared that may not be relevant any longer. The dropbox data could persist but the actual link could be removed somehow.
- Password protected links.
- Ability to share with specific people

Send by email.
Marc
I have just discovered Dropbox Capture which seems interesting, but cannot replace my current tool because the "send by email" button is missing. You have to make the capture then create an email and paste the link or the capture. Add a button directly on the capture menu [send link or capture by email], this button creates an email with the default client.

Marc Absolutely, thanks for the feedback. What tool do you currently use?
Marc
Karan Khanna: We are a team of 50 and always use windows 10 snipping tool (not w11 snip & sketch, very poor). We are looking for an alternative with more features. Dropbox's capture ticks all the boxes, except for quick sharing via email as an attachment. Not all customers will have to click on a link to see a screenshot.

Marc: Got it! Makes sense, we'll take a look into this. In the meantime, if you go into the app Preferences -> General, there is an option to 'Copy Image' instead of 'Copy Link'. If you select this option, after taking a screenshot, you should be able to paste the image directly into an email/chat app to share, so the recipient can view without clicking a link. Let me know if that may help! https://capture.dropbox.com/ZEjSFVy5bdEKp6IO

Automatically Delete Shared Links
Rsingh
I was going through my shared links to clean up items I have sent to clients in the past but it was full of capture links. I think if there was an option to save capture links to be disabled after a few weeks/months so it won't create a huge list of links as majority of the times (atleast for snips), i just send it directly through messengers rather than a link.

Hey Rsingh -- thanks for the feedback, we'll take a look into auto-expiring links!

Set passwords for collection pages

When I share a collection page with a client, I want to put a password on it to increase security. They feel insecure. It would be great to be able to set a password.

Dropbox capture

Great idea and implementation. An add-on that makes sense. Would love to be able to password protect like other dropbox files shared - but of course can just drag the folder to dropbox folder, so maybe cleaner as it is. Would be very useful to be able to move recording box during recording. Good job.

Only allow people with Specific emails to view Captures
Ciaran Carrick
I noticed we have many sharing options, but not options to share privately with certain users? e.g. Password accessible captures
Is an Advanced Sharing option like this planned for the future?

Share Capture links with specific emails/people
Mark Novacek
Not sure if I am doing something wrong, or if this is a feature gap. After taking a capture, I want to share it with someone. I know I can get the link with a click - that is super easy and awesome. But what if I want to just @mention someone and share with them directly without leaving my workflow?
Youcef Es-skouri
Mark Novacek Thank you so much for your feedback, Mark. Sharing Captures directly with specific people/emails is not yet supported. You can only share Captures with links at this time. But I will keep this one here so that other people can chime in and vote. Thank you!
