Add a "Go to Folder" button when viewing your own Capture shared links
Chris Varen😁
Dropbox shared file links have a "Go to folder" button available when you're viewing your own links. This is helpful for figuring out where in your Dropbox a shared file is. Even when you know the folder a file is in (/Screenshots), if you have 1000+ files in that folder and the link is old, the "Go to Folder" button opens the folder and highlights the specific file which is quite helpful.
Capture links don't have this. It would be very nice if they did.
Attached is a screenshot of the "Go to folder" button that shared file links have.
p.s. I love that Capture links let me easily rename the file when viewing the link! Wish Dropbox shared links had that. Though the inconsistent features between the two types links is a bit confusing.

I have a more specific example - a 'go to folder' in the Capture app itself, as an option next to the other clickable options. I have provided a simple mock up to illustrate the idea.
In context, for example, I take a partial screenshot. I want to be able to locate the file within my Dropbox with the aim to drag and drop the file (instead of just the image) into an email or Word document or add it to a merged PDF.

Chris Varen😁 thanks for the feedback, makes sense! What are you trying to do with 'go to the folder' if we had it for Capture links? For example, are you trying to move the file?

Karan Khanna: I'd say I've used this in the past for a large variety of reasons, but the two most recents reasons where:
- First time, figure out where on my Dropbox the GIFs I made with Dropbox Capture are created. (Not /Screenshots)
- Find the file's location/specific name so that I could inspect and strip out its exif data. Basically, so I could modify the file manually. I was also surprised that my Dropbox app with smart sync has to download a file that Capture just uploaded, but I guess this makes sense since they're meant to be independent apps. So I just marked my "/Capture" folder as "always available offline".

Chris Varen😁: Got it, very helpful context, thank you! Will leave this open for others to upvote and chime in.
