Ability to organize Captures and share them

Frequently when I'm taking screen shots it's for a specific purpose.
Eg Expenses, a Project, a presentation.
What I find very time consuming with all screenshot tools is they they always put the captured images in a bucket and it's then my job to go and find them.
A really exciting feature of a tool like this would be to have the option to put all the screenshots into a new folder, even if that was inside the screenshot folder. Just so I could know where they are for a future date.
An example could be that I'm busy working on Project A and see something that would be really useful for Project B and C, I could capture those images and have the tool offer to file them in a folder, I select B or C and carry on with what I'm doing. This keeps me focused knowing I can get back to those items later.

I agree with this, capture seems like a really useful tool, and likely something that will replace loom for me, however organisation is a big issue at the moment.
For example, if I take a screenshot or a video and share this with a team member or client straight away, that's good. However, after that I may want to move this particular file in another folder, be it within the Capture folder or another team folder in dropbox based on the project. This is then a problem as the link that was used to share the file initially no longer works.
I'm personally using Capture for software demos and bug reports.
Having the ability to choose where to save the file captured as soon as it's ready will be beneficial. Likewise, if the access from the generated link wasn't affected when the file was moved that would also be super helpful, especially when those links are attached to bug reports in other software.

It's live. Give it at try on https://capture.dropbox.com where you can create a collection then share it!

Save to new/existing paper doc

Would be great if we could have an option to save multiple captures to a paper doc

Hey Youcef, my thoughts are Paper is usually the tool used for collating a bunch of ideas whether formal or informal. What I mean by that is - it could be project related where someone is taking a series of captures - screenshots, videos etc and just want it surfaced on the one doc so a team can view it, comment and collaborate together. So instances where I wish I could had this is - sharing some information with a customer - series of captures, markups and explanations and then having links to some FAQs etc all in the one paper doc. While this is possible to achieve this manually, it would be great to have an option within capture to select the save location and to have an option to save to a paper doc (new and existing). It doesn't necessarily need to be a paper doc, but I guess a way of collating a bunch of captures. Maybe the ability to share a collection with just one link. Hope that makes sense?

Miaad Hussain: Oh I see. Yes, we are working on collection sharing. Should be available in a couple of weeks!

Miaad Hussain Thank you so much for your feedback. Would you mind sharing a bit more about your use-case? Would love to understand that better so that we can see how we could solve this for you. Thank you!

Capture "Gallery"

D. Lee Stafford
Imagine a 'Gallery' view of all captures in an infinite scroll... The thumbnails in the tray app are often too small for me to tell what is what. A gallery view where I could quickly see all of them and then zoom in/or hover-over to see a preview of the video would be helpful.

Save External Capture to collections
Ciaran Carrick
Seeing External Captures having an ability to favourite or Star would be handy for notable Captures found

Thanks for the suggestion D. Lee Stafford! We currently have a basic version of this on https://capture.dropbox.com/ , but are making big improvements on the web app soon -- adding collections (ability to organize captures) and a visual redesign. Will also look at improving speed + scrolling experience.
Will leave this here for others to upvote and chime in as well!

Favorite/Star a capture

There's a capture that I reference all the time. Today I go into my Slack message history to recall it. Would be nice to have a "Favorites" tab alongside the current (unlabeled) Recents list
